Senior Connection & Care
Presence over presents. Bridging generations, one conversation at a time.
Why it Matters
Isolation is one of the most serious health risks facing older adults in America — more dangerous than smoking, obesity, or high blood pressure. In Cleveland, thousands of seniors face the holidays without meaningful human connection. YouthServeCLE believes students are uniquely positioned to change that.
Every December, YouthServeCLE turns its focus to seniors and intergenerational connection. Students celebrated Mealsgiving alongside community legend Ricky Smith — Cleveland's own holiday built on giving back. They spotlighted Another Chance of Ohio, which provides clothing and essential care packages to neighbors in need.
December 2025 brought a milestone: YouthServeCCIS officially became YouthServeCLE, welcoming Twinsburg High School as its newest chapter, with more schools in the works. Same mission. Bigger reach. More impact.
A reel asked seniors what wisdom they'd pass down — and the answers reminded everyone why these connections matter so deeply.
